I'm sure a lot of locals are going to be disagree with this review, but I'm doing it anyways. The place itself is absolutely gorgeous. I loved the free library and that there were boardgames available. It looks like a really nice place to hang out if you are local. The food was alright, I did like my sandwich and lemonade but the only option for a side was popcorn which was just an odd choice to me. As far as the service...the guy working was just...off putting. I don't know if he was trying to be funny or if I was just an idiot. We had never been here before and had questions. I asked what the side options were because I saw none and he said "right now we have popcorn so that's what we're going with" and clearly I didn't want popcorn (lmao) so I said "I'll just do the sandwich then" to which he responds "well it comes with popcorn...so" and gave me the strangest look so I just agreed on the popcorn and he goes "of course you will". My next friend asked for pasta salad to which the man said "we're out because we're just that good". I don't know, I understand being weary of outsiders especially in a small place like that, but his whole demeanor was very condescending. One of the most awkward encounters I have ever had.

Rivertown is our absolute favorite cafe! They make the best dirty chai, especially with almond milk! Their cookies are made in-house and put Starbucks to shame (seriously SO good), and the food is both delicious and one of the healthiest options in our small town. The owner, Aaron, is always cheerful and full of good energy, it’s nearly impossible to leave without a smile. We also love that they support local farms and buy our free-range eggs. Can’t recommend this gem enough!

Lovely little cafe. Coffee is excellent, but the croissants are to die for. People are friendly and the place has a cozy vibe. Highlight of our trip food wise. Coffee prices are quite reasonable so we’ve been a few times this week.

This is a destination spot for sure. They have lots of high quality selections and the fella that runs the place prides himself on that, big time. They just won people's choice award for their salsa in a salsa competition nearby in Snowshoe, WV! People's votes matter more than judges votes. Think, figure skating for example.

Passing through and noticed this cute cafe. Got a delicious iced latte and an absolutely incredible croissant sandwich. Plus they also have oat milk. Cool vibes and a big space. Great service to top it off.

This place checks all the boxes. 1) Location and a beautiful building inside and out. It has a beautiful ceiling and a fireplace. It's a really really cool space. 2) Food is fantastic. I've had the bagel. The biscuits and the croissants. Eggs are always perfectly fried and their cheese is not run of mill American. 3) Coffee (they use local Doolittle Roasting) is always done well. Big fan of their Americanos and their espresso. 4) Always have interesting specials. Today's specials were multiple burgers. I had the Big Cheese (three types of cheese), my dining partners had the falafel 'burger' and pizza burger. This is definitely my fave spot in Marlinton. This is the place to take someone visiting. Support local places!!!

I enjoyed great coffee, fried egg sandwich and biscuit on Sunday 5/26/2025. I drove up Friday night from SC to ride the beautiful Greenbriar River Trail from Caldwell to Cass. Will be back. Great service as well.
